CHRISTMAS VALLEY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
North Lake County
North Lake County is a land of diversity and contrasts. Located in central Oregon, the changing landscape provides timbered mountains, vast plains, sand dunes, marshes, volcanic flows, towering rimrock and lush, green agricultural areas. A rural area, this semi-arid region of Oregon is hometown friendly and supplies visitors with a different kind of vacation destination.
The area provides great fishing and hunting, ATV riding, camping, horseback riding, hiking, a championship length golf course, a historical museum, birdwatching opportunities, famous archeological sites, geological oddities, and much, much more.
Modern accommodations are available for visitors, and there is a wide assortment of restaurants available, whether your tastes run to hamburgers or gourmet meals.
North Lake County includes the towns of Fort Rock, Christmas Valley, Silver Lake, Summer Lake and Paisley.
LAKE COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
They are all ready to welcome you...
Lake County is a land of stark beauty where one can appreciate broad expanses of desert, sagebrush, high bluffs and rim rocks, plus the solitude of mountain forests, crystal clear lakes and streams, ... all in one day.
Abundant wildlife and majestic views provide excellent opportunity for photographers. It is possible to encounter everything from Wild Horses to Big Horn Sheep and everything in between. Our Lakes and Streams are loaded with fish and we enjoy an average of 320 Sunny Days every year!
Hang-Gliding Capitol of the West, Lakeview hosts Competitions every year. Participants from all over the world launch from Black Cap Mountain high above the Town.
Oregon State's gemstone is the Sunstone, AKA "the Plush Diamond". Sunstones are found only in Lake County and can be mined or picked up in the Public Sunstone Collecting Site. When cut, they make unique and beautiful jewelry.
The Tallest Town in Oregon and the county seat, Lakeview is the home of "Ole Perpetual", the only Hot Water Geyser in the entire Pacific Northwest, which spouts a plume of hot water over 60' in the air about every 30 seconds.
"Old West" Atmosphere, charisma, and attitude are alive and well. Lake County is a place where neighbors are neighborly and children are considered our communities' greatest assets.
